Not one for the easily-spooked, it’s called House of Doom for a reason. It’s a freaky but incredibly fun casino game. The House of Doom slot is a haunting one, developed by Play’n Go. It has 5 reels and 10 paylines, with bets starting at just 10p. Expect the flashes of lightning as you play to unlock Doom Spins, and hellish features as well as the classic Wilds and Scatters.
Your game starts in the grounds of the haunted house in the dark night, with rain falling down and lightning flashing onto the house behind the reels. The cinematic feel of the House of Doom slot will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout each and every spin, but don’t get too close to the screen, you never know what might jump out at you!
Prepare to be Spooked
Perhaps the one thing that isn’t scary about this game, is the simplicity of getting set up to play. The 10 paylines are fixed and in play with every spin. All you need to do is to select the amount you wish to stake per spin.
There is a meter below the reels showing some of the values you can choose. Use the + and – buttons either side to see any higher or lower options. The minimum bet is 10p, and the maximum is £100 per spin.
Once you’re ready to face the House of Doom slot, hit the green spin button below the right-hand reel.
Chilling Winnings
The high-value symbols in this game are in fact very generous. You will be awarded for matching just two on a payline from left to right. The biggest payouts, obviously, are made when you land 5 of the same symbols on a payline.
A creepy, red-eyed ram skull is, perhaps surprisingly, the highest value symbol in standard play. Landing five of these beasts on a payline could pay out 70 times your bet.
The flaming rose can pay out a maximum of 50 times your bet for landing five-of-a-kind on a payline, while the cross wrapped in barbed wire pays up to 40 times the stake.
Landing five of the star pendants on a payline can pay out up to 35 times your bet.
The lower value symbols are the card values, and you will need to match three or more on a payline to win with these. The Ace, King and Queen all have a maximum payout of 10 times your bet amount, should you land five-of-a-kind. The Jack and 10 pay out up to 7.5 times your stake.
Startling special Features
Mystic Wild
You will spot a glowing crystal ball on your reels at some point, with a mystic doing some kind of spell with her hands. This is the Wild symbol, which can substitute for all of the standard symbols in play, giving you an extra chance to build up some winning paylines.
You may also be lucky enough to land some Wilds on a payline. Landing three or more could award you up to 100 times your bet amount. Isn’t that magical?
Fiery Skull Scatter
The Scatter symbol is a fiery skull with horns, and is altogether, frankly, terrifying. The sticks through the skulls and the glowing eyes are enough to give us nightmares, however, landing three of them on the reels could turn your nightmares into a dream.
Three or more fiery skulls will trigger the Bonus Game, in which 15 of the ugly things then take over the screen. Select the skulls to reveal the prizes they are hiding.
If you reveal a 1x, 2x, or 3x coin, you will be able to keep going and pick another. Alternatively, if you reveal a 5x or 20x multiplier, or the House of Doom logo, the feature will end. Your prizes will be added to your total win before returning to the main game.
Doom Spins
Landing three of the House of Doom slot logos on the reels will activate the Doom Spins feature. This feature takes you inside the haunted house, for extra scare-factor.
You will be awarded ten free spins, during which, the House of Doom logo becomes a Wild.
If you land three or more of the logos during free spins, you will be granted another free spin per symbol.
Hellgate
This may sound the scariest of the lot, but it’s bearable, and also likely to help you out.
With every spin, one reel is randomly highlighted. If a Wild symbol lands on a highlighted reel, it will expand to cover the whole reel, making more opportunities for potential wins across the game.
During Doom Spins, between two and five reels can be highlighted, showcasing the House of Doom logo as a Wild, as well as the crystal ball.
Can You hold your Nerve in the House of Doom Slot?
You have been warned, it isn’t for the faint-hearted. If, however, you enjoy a good spooking or seeing scary films come to life, you would be in your element in this game.
Getting to grips with the theme of the game is down to you, but surely it is worth it for these special bonus features on offer?
Step into the haunted house and see how you measure up against the grim creatures. The House of Doom slot has a generous Return to Player (RTP) of 96.1% and has a high variance, so you could be looking at larger prizes less often.
